69th Margazhi Mela

A marquee festival by Chennai-based Krishna Gana Sabha, the Margazhi Mela has been unfolding as a vibrant celebration of music and dance for 68 years now in the months of December and January.

Each day begins with soulful devotional music sessions, setting a contemplative tone. The evenings feature performances by some of the most acclaimed and popular stalwarts of Carnatic music. The day traditionally concludes with a dance presentation, showcasing renowned national and international artistes across diverse classical dance traditions.

Over the decades, Krishna Gana Sabha has upheld a distinguished legacy of cultural excellence, presenting not only Carnatic maestros but also eminent Hindustani vocalists, instrumentalists, and dancers representing every classical form.
