creation. Here śṛṅgāra is not ornament, but the primal force that draws Śiva and Śakti into union, where longing
ripens into life. From the fire of Sati’s sacrifice and Śiva’s grief arises the powerful Kāmākhyā Peetham upon the
Nīlācala hills, where the Goddess abides in quiet potency. At times she withdraws into sacred silence, and the earth
rests with her until she awakens once more—renewed, fertile, and radiant.
