Aalaap turns 13 this year, and to mark the milestone, we present Sthira—a 13-day-long festival of performances and conversations. The festival unfolds through the voices of artistes who have shared a close journey with Aalaap, offering works that reflect stillness and movement, depth and expansiveness. Sthira embodies Aalaap’s own journey—rooted in the constant, yet alive to the dynamic—mirroring the ever-evolving world of the arts.
Chennai has always been special to Aalaap—our home, our grounding and the backdrop against which so many of our stories, collaborations and conversations have blossomed. It is only fitting that Sthira takes shape across spaces in Chennai that have been part of our everyday for years: places that have held our dialogues, our friendships and our dreams; spaces where we have sipped our coffee and had conversations with artistes.
In returning to these spaces, the festival celebrates both continuity and change and honours the city that has been integral to Aalaap’s journey.

Terms and Conditions
- Seating on a first-come-first-served basis.
- No cancellations, exchanges, or refunds.
- Every attendee must get a ticket. Even for the free passes, this is considered as RSVP; we have limited seating.
- We recommend that you arrive at least 20 minutes prior at the venue.
- No refund on tickets will be made under any circumstances except pursuant to conditions under Event Cancellation or Postponement.
- Cameras and video recorders are not permitted inside the venue. Recording of proceedings on stage, using any device is strictly prohibited
- Mobile phones should be either switched off or in silent mode
- The organizers are not liable for any delays or cancellation which results from, Force Majeure or any state of emergency or any other government act, law statute, ordinance, whatsoever which renders impractical for the organizers.
