CELEBRATING THE DIVINE FEMININE - A MARGAM - INDIA

A solo Bharatanatyam Margam celebrating the divine feminine. Sarvagnye, is a bouquet of some traditional & original compositions, that explore the idea of Devi as Sarvagnyam (the omnipresent). The margam runs approximately 1 hr 46mins & explores these hues through Meenakshi, Radha, Durga & kali. Opening with an ode to Kalabhairava exploring the paradox of Ghora and Aghora, the margam concludes with a battle of the forever body & mind metaphorically as Mahamaya , slays the Mahisha within us. Performed with live musicians, this margam is a humble attempt to celebrate the divine within us.

Quintessential Dancer

Neha Mondal is an quintessential dancer of all that is classicism in Bharatha Natya. She has a very engaging stage presence with a near perfect physical frame for the Indian classical dancer. Trained in the Kalakshetra school and well chiselled with all fine details which makes that style rich in traditional aesthetics, Neha uses this broad and deep vocabulary in her creative endeavors, innovatively and imaginatively. Her broad and expressive eyes is a canvas for a range of complex rasas which coalesce in characterizations and arresting Abhinaya as was seen in her Draupadi. Her stay in Malaysia was enriching both in her teaching and performance. She left indelible impressions in many students and her extensive performances left impressive memories in discerning audiences here. Her wide range of collaborations have equipped her with a sound knowledge base which she continues to use creatively. Her short collaborations with me have been exciting and mutually inspiring synergistically. Wishing her every success and looking forward to all her refreshingly unique new works.
