It is no exaggeration when we say racism is killing our planet. Environmental justice is the story of racial justice. We cannot save our planet without dismantling the ideology of white supremacy aka racism, that continues to lead the way toward disposable people and a disposable natural world.
George Floyd’s murder in the middle of the ongoing unprecedented corona-virus epidemic, even as we were already facing escalating climate crisis, has brought to the surface in a big way a longer standing underlying pandemic of racism, that has plagued our country for over 400 years.
To understand how, we have invited Nisha Anand, a social justice and environmental activist, also CEO of Dream Corps, to enlighten us, recent professional immigrants from South East Asia, how the evolution and systemic institutionalization of racism over centuries affects not just the black community today, but all of us.
In her conversation with our alumnus Sudnya Shroff, we welcome Nisha to throw light on our community’s possible blind spots and why it’s imperative we pay attention and participate in this shared fight for liberation alongside our black brothers and sisters.
Please do join us for a fireside chat on Saturday, July 18th at 10:30 am for a stimulating discussion and RSVP at the earliest as spots are limited.
The Videoconferencing details will be included in your free ticket, once you RSVP
This is a Free virtual event, but please RSVP as there are limited spots.
