Introduction to Gaurav Shah from the Indian School of Development Management

Dear All,

It's a pleasure for us to introduce you to Gaurav Shah, a social entrepreneur from BITS Pilani (1996B3A7175!), currently Founder at the Indian School of Development Management (ISDM). ISDM was established in 2016 as a first of its kind Management School for the Social Sector, set up to mainstream the idea of Management for Social Change (Development Management) and create Management Talent dedicated to improving the lives of millions of people living in poverty.

In its initial phase, ISDM has been supported by a variety of distinguished individuals and institutions (e.g. Ford Foundation, Omidyar Networks India, NatWest Group, Citibank, HSBC, H.T. Parekh Foundation, Amit Chandra (Bain Consulting/ A.T.E Chandra Foundation), Ashish Dhawan (Founder of Ashoka University, Central Square Foundation), Sanjeev Bikhchandani (Founder of Naukri.com) etc. Having crossed their proof of concept phase with strong tailwinds, ISDM is looking at the next 5 years as a period of consolidation, institution building and growth. (More details on the 1 Pager attached)

With this in mind, they are looking for guidance and support from this group for their journey to establish a pioneering, world-class institution for Development Management in India and raise philanthropic grant capital to make this happen. Given that a lot of innovation in Higher Education in recent times has happened in the West, Development Management could be India's valuable contribution to the rest of the world. Gaurav is in the US from Oct 7 - 31 (Bay Area till Oct 20, East Coast post that)

Those interested in catching up with Gaurav could either share their basic contact details on the following FORM or write to him on gaurav.shah@isdm.org.in.

Warm Regards

Ankush Bagotra
